This run starts on George St., right by the State Theater and New Brunswick's theater district. It then moves on to Boyd Park, after crossing Route 18. You'll run almost the entire length of the park, mostly running side by side with the Raritan River. Watch out for some bird poo on the park, though. As you get to the end of the park, you're finishing up mile number 1.
After reaching the end of the park, the route goes uphill (a bit steep) on R18 until the entrance of Rutgers' Cook/Douglass campus. After entering the campus, you'll go around Cook/Douglass main lawn. This is one of the best parts of the route - the campus is very beautiful, there's a ton of shade from the big trees and the big lawn has a nice lake with a fountain in the middle. That's mile number 2.
After you leave the campus, you're in the final mile. This is mainly on Suydam St. and Livingstone Avenue all the way back to George St. I don't find this mile particularly interesting, it's mainly streets and houses, not much to see. It's pretty leveled, no hills. Anyone has suggestions for a better route back to the starting point?
